Posts: 58 | I just ordered a new Esox Magnum with the optional side by side seating and I can't seem to find any literature/photos on that specific setup. The dealer explained that the platform is similar to that of a bass boat. I am excited to take delivery on the new boat, but in the mean time I am looking for info that will give me a better idea of how it is set up.

Posts: 32953 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It is a module that allows for permanent mounting of the helm and passenger helm plus a back deck that opnes up for storage of vests, etc. It makes the boat the ultimate three man muskie fishing platform. I drove that model for a lot of years!

Posts: 58 | Thanks for the info Steve. I am looking at trolling motors that will work well with the esox mag and I am thinking of using the minn kota maxxum 80. This motor should have the power I need to fish in any condition, but I'm not sure what shaft length I should go with. Do you have any suggestions for this, (bear in mind that I will be fishing some rough water and possibly some tournaments)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Posts: 1335 Location: Chicago, Beverly | 80lbs should be more then enough for a esox mag. I just upgraded to a 74lbs maxxum hand control with 3x on my Tuffy Rampage. That has a 52" shaft on it.. That size may be a bit long for a esox mag as my rampage sits higher at the bow I think.. especially since it seems long on my Rampage at times..

Posts: 58 | I ended up ordering from Quam's in Stoughton. I had been working with another dealer that I was going to trade my old boat with, but some unexpected expenses kept me from doing so. I ended up selling my boat outright to cover my expenses. I thought a new Tuffy was out of the question do to my financial situation, but a friend of mine from work knows Quam's very well. He told me to stop in and let them know what I was looking for and they would work with me. I was shocked at the price they gave me with all of the options that I wanted. I felt like they were up front and honest about everything, so far it has been a very pleasing experience.

| I own a Esox mag/tiller. 42" sharft is perfect, you don't want to go longer, it will stick to far back when retracted and may even stick out the side of the boat on the port side. Hard to fit a cover on if you plan on getting one. | |||

Posts: 105 | Glad to hear you worked things out and can in the Esox. I know you'll like the set up. Send me an e-mail later in the season and let me know what you think.
