Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | It's an old Lund tunnel hull. Year unknown and Coast Guard plate gone. I just need an approximate....we're looking at putting a new Merc 25 4 stroke on it, but that motor weighs a ton at about 150lbs. Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | I believe the boat is a Guide 315....it's a 15' with a 5-3" beam.

Posts: 145 Location: Eau Claire, WI | Looks like an old Lund Guide 14 or Guide 15 If it is a Lund Guide 14 the max HP is 25. If its a Lund Guide 15 I am not sure of the max HP but I have seen most of them with a 30HP outboard. I remember the day when the Guide 15 was "The Guide Boat" to have. I remember seeing many of the top guides on the Chippewa Flowage fishing out of just the same boat as in your picture. Although small by todays standards, they are a great boat to fish from. Posts: 91 | I have that boat in a 14' version and mine is rated for a 20 hp motor. Unbelievably stable, I've hads 2 fat guys hanging over the edge working on fish and didn't even come close to getting water over the edge. if you got that for 50 bucks you are a lucky man. They draft real shallow, makes it good for skinny/ small river fishing. Edited by jacorn 2/7/2006 11:44 PM

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Thanks fellas. We had a Merc 15 hp on it, but my brother, who's 265+ can't get the thing to plain out....we're looking for a used 25-30 for her now. I appreciate all the help.

| Might want to try a smaller prop on the 15 HP. If drop down a couple of sizes should be able to get it to plan with heavy load. Another thing to concider is that a 25 4 stroke will be about twice as heavy as a 15. | |||

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Good idea with the prop, we'll try it. We're looking for an old 2 stroke 25-30 now...the 25 4 stroker is way too heavy at about 150+.
