If anybody has a boat that looks a little run down, I highly recommend using Meguiars Heavy Duty Oxidation remover. It is made for gel coats.

I washed my boat, and then put on three coats of protectant/cleaner. The first was Meguiars HD Oxidation remover. The second was Meguiars Polish. The last coat was meguiars carnuba wax. I am absolutely floored at the results. I was honestly thinking about a new paint job.

WARNING!! Do not use the oxidation remover on the boat letters. As you can see in the after, it removed the red from my Tuffy sticker. The after picture was taken about 2.5 hours after I finished, so no it is not still wet.

Lools good, I just used a product by vertglass which is a little more labour intensive. You have a oxidation remover then 5 coats of sealer but boy does it bring back the colour.

My Tuffy is a lot older then that one, so not Gel coat... You think it might work on that??

Older than a 1987? How old is your Tuffy?

I have heard of using oxiclean (yes, the one from the infomercial) to get rid of the oxidation.

Meguiars also sells a cleaner that is for cars. That should do the trick. It is Step 1 in their three step program.

I've used Meguiars wax products on my vehicles and boats for years and have found them to be superior to most other ones. The Tuffy looks nice.

Try some on a spot that won't be noticeable. I don't think it will be a problem.

I think it looks kinda cool with the red gone from the bottom...makes the "Tuffy" stand out a bit more in the lower section.

Looks really nice overall too...

I got the Meguiars oxidation remover from a boat store near me. You could probably get it at any boat store. I think you can buy it at http://www.meguiars.com too.

The Polish and Wax I got from an auto parts store.
