I see alot of posts with people catchin fish in deep water around baitfish jigging a fuzzy duzzit... I have never seen or used ths particular lure.... any advice? ... Also you use them like that all year round? or are they primarily a Fall bait?

I would suggest dropping a sucker down, and jigging the duzzit near by.The extreme flash and vibe will draw them in for sure I would also use it on deep breaks and no more than say 10' off the bottom.

I use em quite often in the fall and they work quite well. Bang bottom on up or keep an eye on the graph as to baitfish and work the bait at the approprite level. First off get rid of the split rings that come with the bait and go with some heavier duty rings, all it took was a 40 incher to get free from destroyed rings to get this point across to me. I use both sizes and have had really good success on the large profile silver prism. A classic way to probe the secondary breakline. Oh by the way I have pulled up an old musky rod and reel, a net, and a five gallon bucket off the bottom of lakes, they keep our lakes clean too:) Dave Jonesi

I like to use the old Fuzzy during late fall as well.

The lakes here in Indiana have a ton of shad in them, and when the water temps start getting around the 50 degree mark, and lower the shad really ball up in 30-40 feet of water.

Simply drop the lure down in the bait and jig your butt off. I like longer, slower pulls up, not super quick rips.

I hate to jig, but it is more fun than sucker fishing. Fuzzy Duzzits are great in the face baits, but sometimes a Magnum Bull Dawg or Bull Dawg can be more effective doing that type of fishing. Also don't forget to try Cobra Jig/Creeper combinations and rolling Big Spinnerbaits for a smaller presentation when things are tough!

The Fuzzys are a GREAT way to get down to the fish when you are marking bait fish DEEP in the water column. I'm sure they can be used all year long when you are marking bait deep but most guys only use them in the Fall.

I worked one for the first time a couple of weeks ago...wait, work means I actually spent time with it, what I did was dabble.....you gotta have a strong arm and will to bounce these things around for a while. I'm gonna curl bowling balls this winter to get ready for Fuzzy's next season.

Bowling balls...now thats funny...

Last week while my wife and I were out fishing she wanted to switch baits....I asked if she wanted to just sit down and then jig over the side of the boat for a while....I was going to give her my big fuzzy duzzit...but couldn't pull my self to do it...

I also have great luck with the fuzzy in the fall. I like to use them on the windward side of a hump that has a steep break. Like to bang it off the bottom and lift up and repeat. Of the last two years in early november, my biggest fish would come this way. It never is my first line of attack, but a nice change up when I've tired a bit . (or I can't seem to locate fish at my honey holes.) When you look at one you think
that there is no way this is going to catch fish, but it does.

The Duzzit is an awesome bait. If you are not familiar with it the best time to use it and build up some confidence is when there are three people in the boat. It WILL NOT disappoint.

Another thing to try is casting it out on sand flats and popping it back to the boat. If you want to have more lift when jigging it file some of lead off the weight and hold on!!! They really hammer it.
