Posts: 200 | So I haven’t pulled tens much, biggest blades are throw are double 8’s. For guys that have thrown 10’s and steady retrieved angry dragons, is the resistance similar? Just trying to gauge the amount of drag an angry dragon has, anyone have any comparison to the resistance of an angry dragon?

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Never used a dragon but if it's anything like other chatterbaits, it's nowhere close to double 10s. I'm interested in hearing from others who have used them as I'd like to add a dragon to my box. I don't think 10s are a problem, just interested.

Posts: 25 Location: Union Grove, WI | I would agree that it's definitely not like pulling 10's. I just got my first one but have thrown it a little and probably more like double 8's if not even a little bit easier.

Posts: 200 | Anyone pull angry dragons with a high gear reel? I am gonna get a Tranx 400 and I am undecided on which one to get. I pull 8’s once in a while and some mid/deep cranks and angry dragons. Those are my hardest pulling baits. I am Having a tough time choosing which Gear ratio to get. This will be my second set up, my other set up is a Lexa 300 7.1.1, 32”.

Posts: 101 | I pull them easily with my Tranx HG... not much resistance at all

Posts: 200 | So being that I don’t throw super high resistant baits would it be worth it to get the HG and just slow down when I need to? Or stick with the A? I have a hard time slowing down at times so I am torn on which Tranx to get.

Posts: 200 | I have fished all my baits with my lexa 300 7.1. I am pretty sure I am gonna get the Tranx 400 in the lower gear. Now just gotta figure out which rod to put it on. I am pretty sure I wanna put it on an 8’6” H or XH.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | I'd stick with the high gear. Can always slow down, but you can't match the speed of a higher gear ratio reel. You don't seem to throw stuff with much resistance, I'd stick to high gear.
