Location: Germantown, WI | Have some interest in heading up to this area this summer. Realize fishing will be walleye, sm bass, and northern primarily..... But want to get thoughts, recommendations, experiences, like, dislikes about area and lakes..... Compare to other spots in Canada, northern mn or northern wi too. I was looking at staying on Kabatogama most likely.... Look forward to hearing about it, and pm me if feel more comfortable communicating that way.

| Haven't been up there in a few years now but has always been one of my favorite lakes. Not over developed like some lakes an hour south. My favorite resort is Voyagers national park lodge. Very private cabins with incredible views. Can't compare to other spots in Canada but a very nice lake in my opinion.

Location: North MN | Rainy Lake........ Better fishing than Kab and almost the entire lake is a national park..... No cabins. Just be careful to not take out your entire lower unit. |

Location: Walker, MN | I like Kab and Nam as I can still fish even if the wind blows hard. I have never had a problem catching Walleyes or Crappies. Just part of the south end of Kab has resorts. It doesn't matter if you are on Kab, Nam, Rainy, Sand Point or Crane, once you get a mile or two in you are in National Park and things are pretty quiet. |

Location: Illinois | Have caught some monster pike on Nam +20lbs in the fall along with some +6lb smallies. It has more structure that Kab, I think. You can stay on the Ash river and have access to either side. We've stayed at a few different place, but Ash Ka Nam was probably my favorite. Lots of resorts on Kab side as stated.

Location: Minocqua, WI | Fish Rainy. It's a multi-species delight. Depending on time of year you can be the only boat that's fishing an entire basin or section of the lake. I spend my time there in NW arm out of Camp Narrows, which fishes similar to Voyageurs region but is more fertile. On the US side however, walleye regulations are more relaxed and generous. |

| X2 on the island campsites on Rainy. Two years ago my sister and her husband were living on the lake and we took a boat ride the length of the lake. The island campsites maintained by the Park Service looked great. Dock for your boat, cleared and leveled campsite. Only problem would be if you got a big wind, you could be stuck there for a couple days. Would need to keep an eye on the forecasts. |

I did this 4 years ago and while we did not musky fish it was a trip I will never forget. My brother and I still talk about it! |

Location: MN | I've boat camped on rainy and namekagon. Both have awesome camp sites and awesome fishing. The smallmouths in those lakes are pigs! Big pike, eyes and crappie too. |
