Posts: 5 | Hey guys! So I will be be buying new rod'n reel for pike and Im choosing between these three reels.. The rod will be Savage Gear Custom Predator 240g 258cm and 80lb braid.. This set will be mainly for 20-27cm 100g-300g swimbaits and spinners. I already got Okuma Citrix on other rod and Its really nice piece of gear for that price! So any ideas why Okuma and why Abu?

Posts: 340 Location: Lake County Illinois | I have both reels and use and like them both.Lately I find myself using my Komodos more .I have fished them pretty hard and they are super smooth casting and very comfortable almost like im fishing a Bass reel. Also Okuma offers a 3 year warranty on the Komodos which is pretty nice for a musky reel. Its been a solid reel for me with no issues and I also really like the handles they come with as I have one with a power handle and one with a double paddle handle.I also just picked up a Citrix 350 size in a 5.4:1 gear and that seems really nice also.

Posts: 72 | I used both the NaCl and the Komodo. Both very nice reels and very similar in quality. The main difference is the gear ratio and the knobs. It really comes down to personal preference.

Posts: 251 | I love the NaCL that I have but you might wait until the Revo Toro Beast is released and add that to the mix. Not sure on the specs but someone said it would be about the size of a Revo 60 reel.

Posts: 5 | Well Revo Beast already came out and Its quite a small and not that powerfull reel I would say. I've never heard anything about Revo Toro Beast..

Posts: 259 | think of it as a bigger version of a revo toro 60 that won the best casting reel award at efftex 2015 personaly i would recommend that you wait until icast so that abu releses more info about it befor deciding what to buy If not, i pesonaly use a Nacl 61 on a savage gear big pike rod and im very happy with it so far

The main difference is the gear ratio and the knobs. It really comes down to personal preference. Will also add that the Komodo is just a tad smaller than 60 series Revo Toro/NaCl, but I like them both (I own Revos). I also like the knobs better on the Komodo crank.

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | I have the Revo Toro 61 in the 5.4:1 & the Komodo 350. I like both reels but haven't used the Komodo that much so I still prefer the Toro but I may end up liking the Komodo more once I put more miles on it. The Komodo is a good bang for the buck.
