Any 690 owners add an automatic bilge to their boat? If so, did you replace the existing bilge pump and hook the new one up to its plumbing, or did you add it as a second unit and run new hose out somewhere?

I would add in addition to the standard unit. Then, the auto becomes the main pump, and the other manual becomes the back up.

This goes for all boats. It's a good idea to have 2 pumps.

what I was getting at is you can run 2, not just replace the manual w an auto...he should have 2 switches for bilge on his dash as well... how's that...more helpful HunterJoe!!?? sheesh.

Lol. Actually, yeah. That's probably a lot more helpful than saying what you did before. Any more helpful info? Such as how they are plumbed up for the exit hoses/ports?

, each bilge has it's own tube to pump the water out ... the exit holes are right next to each other on the starboard side...

Turns out I do have two bilge pumps, and two switches on the dash, but both are "manual". So I replaced one with an auto pump with built in float switch. It has 3 wires, one is black and goes to neg on the battery. The other two are positive and go to a three way switch, one for manual one for auto setting. My question is what does the 3 way switch look like on the back - does it have 3 connection points and I would run a wire from pos post of battery, to fuse, then to the middle or off terminal on the switch and the two positive leads from the pump to the other two terminals on the switch?

Got it. First 3 way switch I bought at hardware store had 6 connections on the back. I was confused. That's for two different loads I believe. New switch has 3 spade connectors on back. That oughta work. Thanks Shep
