So I have been fishing all my life with very little success, I love doing it just being on the water. But this year especially it has really gotten to me. I haven't even seen a muskie despite putting in around 30 hours on the water. I don't know of anyone who fishes on Georgian bay, none of my family has ever fished in general before either so I am starting from complete scratch. I focus on casting buck tails in weedbeds in about 10 feet. I occasionally will catch some pike but thats it. Any help to crack this tough lake would be great, I know it takes time but it seems like I must being doing something wrong here!

I know it's the common answer, but I would recommend hiring a guide for a day who knows the waters well and consistantly puts up numbers. This will dramatically shorten your learning curve.

I have never fished Georgian Bay but I am guessing it is low density and one of the tougher musky waters to fish due to its sheer size. Try to make some friends who fish musky or get some info from local baitshops on decent areas to try for musky. Don't be afraid to troll out there either. And lastly, if you have the money, hire a good guide to get you oriented on the water so you are not just going out there blindly. Good luck! That water has some monsters!

What area are you fishing the Bay is a big place. A day spent with Johnny Dadson, Shawn Mahar or Graham Bristow would be a worthwhile investment. A lot of Bay Boys are trollers fishing deep offshore humps. Depending on where you live joining Muskies Canada and attending meetings will put you in contact with a lot of people who fish the bay.

30 hours is nothing on the bay. If I was putting a fish in the bag every 30 hours on The Bay I would be very happy. Graham is the best guide out here if you can afford him. Join Muskies Canada there is a Barrie Chapter.

I've lived my life on G-bay if you are fishing for number of fish it's not the water a 5 fish season on the bay is amazing because all those fish may very well be 40 lbs.
