Location: Right behind you (tap, tap) BOOO | No experience with Gel bats here, too rich for my blood, but I have been running Batteries Plus house brand deep cells on my ride for a few years now and they have been great, they still perform very well.
Main thing I think is to keep them maintained properly, I have on board chargers and they get plugged in like clock work when I put the boat in the garage, and if I'm out of town they plugged in when not in use.
Odd the interstates are failing for you so fast, I know there are alot of guys that swear by the interstate bats. |

Location: MN | Still perhaps should have lasted more than 2 years - unless you were putting a pretty thorough draining on them on a regular basis and not charging fairly soon after. Deep cycles are meant to be taken down, but are also best maintained charging them fully right away also. |

Location: Maple Grove, MN | AC Delco make the best batteries I have ever seen. I have gotten up to 11 years on one. I have had the same three on my boat for the past five years and they are still going strong. They are a little more expensive than basic deep cycle batteries, but they are worth it.

Agreed. Every moment they are stored in a reduced state of charge lessens their life.
+1 for AC Delco. I ran one for 9 years before getting another one. |

Location: Maine Township, MN | Whatever you buy, fully charge them slowly (2amp) before using them. That will greatly extend your service life. |
