I recently bought a used boat that has this hydrofoil on it and the troller fin was crack and I lost it today. Can anyone tell me who makes this model? It is on a 2004 Mercury 50hp.

I bebieve its something to do with slowing down trolling speed. I thing theres a flap that comes down behind the prop.

Hiya,

I believe cabela's used to make that... it is called a Hydro-Troll.

I don't believe they carry it anymore...

just drag a drift sock or a 5 gal bucket behind ya. that will slow ya down to a crawl

Yep, looks like the Cabela's Hydro-Troll, which they appear not to sell anymore. The reviews on it sucked so it's probably not worth replacing.

It looks like a doel-fin, a device that helps your boat get to plane sooner. It will take a mph or 2 away from the boat, but generally improves ride. I have nuaticus (?) trim tabs on the back of my boat. I like em.

Yeah, I found that the reviews were pretty bad. I'm not going to woory about trying to replace the trolling plate.
