I have searched the net and found nothing outher than videos on a shooting game!! Could someone explain more as to what this is!! Thanks Mike

Posts: 2089 | They were a jerkbait made by Clayton Slack from the Hayward area. They looked like a beer bottle with a little scoop on the front. Edited by Steve Jonesi 10/5/2011 10:36 AM

Appreciate the info from both of you!! No problem. I also found out that Clayton Slack was a Pvt. in the army back in WWI where he earned numerous medals including the most prestigious - Medal of Honor. After that, he went into the show business, doing theater shows across the states... After the show business, Clayton Slack spent the rest of his life in Hayward at the resort he owned (unknown to me) at which time I'm guessing he made these lures. I wonder if his resort was on Big Round - I remember fishing Clay's Bar when I was up there a couple of years ago. Always wondered how some of these spots on the lakes got thier names. Anyways, just thought I would share a little more of the history I found when searching this lure. When it comes to any and all of this musky related stuff, I am like a sponge, just love soaking up the information and this site is undoubtedly the leader. Edited by MartinTD 10/5/2011 12:16 PM
