OK Guys, where are you going to Hunt Muskies  on the opening weekend ?

I hope to fish Cave Run in April

 Wisconsin River for Their opener.

 And, Lake Vermilion in June.

Man, Do I ever have a Bad case of Cabin Fever !

Making a trip or two to Indiana as soon as the ice is off there and then hitting a small, local lake for the MI opener in April.

I am not sure yet. I will be fishing with my brother and one of my daughters for my very first musky opener. With so many darn lakes within a couple hours of home it is going to be a hard decision to make.

Going to be asking alot of question to the season pros and see what they know are the better early season lakes to hit!!!

Hoping to get my fat butt organized and possibly get involved in a musky club within the next month or so!!! That would be a huge help to getting me started.

Hiya,

April will not happen for Muskies for me. May might not either. June....that'll be around Longville enjoying the area lakes there. It cannot come fast enough!!

Never fish my home water on opening day being retired I can wait till the hoards go back to work. If I fish on the opening Sat. I will put a 12 foot tinney in the back of the truck and put it in a small local stream with no launch and acess through a farmers field. I'm not antisocial I just don't like crowds.

The ice should be off the lakes here in Iowa in two or three weeks and the season begins.

I'll be on Vermillion for opener. I'll actually be up there 2 days before Muskie opener fishing for walleyes which should give me some time to check out some weed beds and watch the wind for the rocks spots before Saturday morning. It's always nice to be confident in a spot come opening morning Oh and hopefully no one takes this wrong I'm not the guy that is checking out spots by fishing for "pike" when you can tell they are throwing for skis. I have seen people doing that and it peees me off! Just wait like everyone else has too!
