Posts: 553 Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | The Collins is definetly not a bad choice. Melton Hill starts going by then as well. But this past fall/winter AfChris and I found Lake Kinkaid to have a decent casting bite as late as December 23rd last year. Not huge numbers, but we have a shot at 5 one day in about 8 hours, and probably average 3 fish every 2 trips.

Hunter4 - 8/22/2010 9:16 PM 5 muskies in one 8 hour day is NOT a huge day? I want to fish where you're fishing. In the middle of Dec. most people would think the chance of landing 5 muskies would be a good or huge day. Perhaps other times of the year it might be different, but we are talking Dec. One thing I would mention is you could run into ice in Dec. on Kinkaid depending on the year...BR

Posts: 553 Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | I was not attempting to sounds arrogant; I guess 5 is a good number of fish in December (we only landed 2 however). But as I stated we were getting a fish or 2 per trip, and we were (what I believe to be at least) keyed in a pattern not many others were utilizing. Also, any fish over 45" or 46" is a BIG FISH on Kinkaid, which differs greatly from other northern fisheries. I guess I compare numbers to the central Indiana lakes, which, as Vince stated, can put up some ridiculous numbers.
