Location: Wausau, WI | There is a bushing in the sideplate of the reel that goes out. If you want to, you can send it in or just order one and do it yourself. This is a very common problem with the Luna and the St. Croix AC300 (same reel). I have had the Luna apart multiple times for this problem/regular cleaning and that bushing looks like the only anti-reverse device in the reel. |

Location: Duluth, MN | It's called the roller clutch bearing. Buy 2 when you call for the part. I always keep a spare. St. Croix sells them for $10. Not sure what Diawa charges. Don't bother trying to clean it...once it goes bad it's bad and not worth risking a hookset that fails.

| send it in,i have the same problem it goes every year or so from ripping twitch baits.If it was bought within the year they replace it free do to the warrenty.Got mine back in 2 weeks good as new now. |

| Lundbob or others,
I understand that there is a special lubricant that has to be used on this one-way roller bearing? Am I imagining things? Or, is this true? How do you lubricate the one-way roller bearing?

Location: Wausau, WI | Frabill makes a grease called Sub Zero that works awesome as well. I use it in the winter for tip up fishing and on my jig rods. |

| There is a special grease that is available for the antiverse bearing. The best i can tell is it does at least help a little bit, had a bearing that was starting to go, so took it out and cleaned it and repacked with the diawa grease and it hasn't failed me yet. Is a cure all? No but it will help squeeze some life from the bearing. Great reel but this is their weakness, i am on my third anti reverse this year already. Call Diawa customer service and make them aware of this problem, the last time I talked to them they really didn't think it was that wide spread of problem. |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | White lithium grease is what I used to pack my bearings with...it worked for a couple weeks, then same thing....sent it in and they sent me a Luna...same problem happened there....I've given up on pricey reels and now consider them disposable buying 6500s and hoping to get a season out of them. |
