Posts: 337 Location: Central WI | I accidentally broke about 10" off the end of my 8' St. Croix Premier the other day....completely my fault, no defect in the rod. Clean break. I was wondering if there is any chance of the rod being able to be repaired? I'm assuming not, but figured I would ask. Kind of makes me sick to my stomach. I really like the rod a lot. I was going to try getting ahold of St. Croix also and check with them. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Posts: 291 Location: New Jersey | Contact St. Croix, they are awesome about that stuff. If it is still under warranty they will give you a new rod usually. Worst case, you will pay like 50 bucks and get a new rod. Also, if you go on their website you can pick a package and possibly upgrade the rod. Give them a call, tell them the truth and see what they tell you. They are great over there. Rob

Posts: 999 | Send them $20 bucks and they will send you a new rod if it is within the warranty. Tell'em you tried to cross the eyes on a northern pike.......... MM

Steve I know I'd personally rather take a rod back when someone says, "I stepped on it" instead of "A fish broke it on my 3rd cast." I love getting that one on rods that are 10 years old. (yes it does happen)

Posts: 337 Location: Central WI | I mentioned it was my fault that the rod broke when I contacted St. Croix. They will repair any rod for $50 under their Gold Star plan. I'll have to send it to them over the winter break. Thanks again for the info! Edited by bobtodd 8/20/2008 10:11 PM
