| Hey guys I was thinking about purchasing two 8'6" rods from okuma. They are the EvX series. The only question I have is about the telescoping rods. Do they hold up well? Any experiences with them? Any suggestions?

Location: Ontario, California | MT... I am a little biased as far as the rods go as I was part of developing the actions and specs for them. I can tell you that we have shipped around 350 - 400 of the telescopic rods since last fall and I have not heard of any issues with the connection. There are a few guys on this site that are using these that may be able to give you a first hand, un-biased opinion on them.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I've got one and really like it. My main purpose was for big spinnerbaits and double 10's. I combined this rod with a Isis and it sure handles these baits like a charm. The best thing with the telescoping rod is that I can fit it in any rod tube in the rod locker. It also makes it convenient when at school I can stow the rod in the truck very easily. I'd recommend one.
Also, the rod is lighter than an 8 foot St. Croix Premier, that didn't hurt anything either.

Location: Madison, WI | I bought a heavy and Xtrheavy at the beginning of the year, haven't had a problem yet. Very solid rods, with a lifetime warrenty to boot. Buy em, you won't regret it! |

Location: nappanee IN | bought a 7-4 used and didn't know how it would handle a big suzy sucker, man what a rod!doesn't hardly bend at all, even with my biggest deadhead jerkbait. and throws sidewinders like they were walleye jigs. rated for only 1/2 -4ounce,yea right  can't wait to get a 6500 to put on it for the big toys i bought this winter..karol |

Location: Des Moines IA | I have the Ex Heavy, and the Heavy models, both with Abu 7000's. They sure can take a beating, and the Ex Heavy has no problem throwing the suzy's and sue's. I also like it for the XX's. I use the Heavy for pretty much everything else, except jerkbaits, still use the 7'6 Ex Heavy Lamiglass for those. For the money they are very tough to beat. |

You won't be sorry, I have the Heavy and have used it for the better part of 2 seasons now. Still the first one I grab for most applications.

Location: Racine, Wi | You'll love those rods. Great rods for the money. I've been chucking big suzys, pounders, and mag dawgs with them, and haven't had a complaint yet. I've even thrown little 6" slammers on the XH with ease, so you can throw just about anything on them.

| I was pretty scepticle about getting one as well and I have to say I am extremely impressed with this rod! I got the heavy and haven't had trouble throwing anything in my box. |
