Posts: 1287 Location: WI | I'm 29 and have shore fished a spot since I was 13. BIG fish spot. I have not gotten anything over 31 inches (pike or musky). I showed my spot to a friend and he nailed a 36 and 40 incher there today on some tiny spinner. arrrgh! Jealousy!!!! I was there not too long after him and had a nice fish (I think it was a ski) try to grab a jackpot style lure right at shore but it missed.

Posts: 32885 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Maybe he learned that sharing information with a friend can be rewarding, despite the fact his buddy handed his fanny to him in the Big Fish category. I get just as much of a thrill when a friend pops a nice fish on water I marked for him as when it's mine in the Frabill. I guess that's me......

Posts: 4266 | You learned that what goes around, comes around. Karma...whatever. You shared with a friend, and instead of being jealous, you should celebrate with him, and he will celebrate with you when you catch a bigger one. Like Steve said. As long as any fish comes to the net, you should be thankful and happy, regardless of who puts the hooks in the fish. I have had the pleasure of being in both situations, as almost everyone here has, and I'm sure they all get pleasure out of sharing in the experience. Nobody's keeping score afterall. Your kind gesture will be rewarded someday. Beav

Plus, he works in a sporting goods store and ties flies...so he's going to teach me how to tie some big musky sized streamers. It's a win-win situation. Plus, now I have another person to fish with. I still can't get over how small of a spinner he caught them on. Geez.
