| JL Marine speakers......6x9s in the counsel, 6.5 rounds up front. 8 inch Bazooka tube 150 watt marine subwoofer under the casting deck.
Figured what the heck? Gotta have some fun!

Location: north central wisconsin | Chris, can you turn the subs off when fishing? I'd like to do a similar setup but neither want it on while fishing, nor the drain on the battery if just listening to something with the motor off. But, I'd like the added bass at times. |

| Yes,
I back it off while fishing of course. It's a pretty cool set up actually. Under $200 for the sub with the built in amp, waterproof, and the ability to turn off/on. I fish primarily of course, but also like parking on a sand bar in the summer and having a little fun.

Location: north central wisconsin | do you have the sub on it sown battery? Trolling motor battery? Keep the motor running? i know that my amp in my truck draws enough that I cannot leave it off long or the battery is at zero. Have any pics of the setup? |

It's tied to the starting battery, with the radio itself. I actually had a place here in the TC area called Marine Audio do the install. I have not noticed any draw on the battery at all. Figured I'd rather have it done right than me doing a amatuer job of it!
Once I bring the boat out of storage I can snap a few pics. Pretty cool though, the Bazooka is secured with nylon straps that are screwed into the floor. I run Cove to Red Door on Mille Lacs and it has never moved. Wires go into a tube and into the front right battery compartment. Unit itself sits under the casting deck, so nothing is exposed. If I want to remove it, it's the straps and a couple wires, and that's it.

| Thanks for the advice man. I was just leary as my pick-up truck system can only run for a few minutes before draining the battery when the vehicle is off. When fishing, I'd only have it on very very low volumes if on at all, and wanted to be sure the amp and/or sub were/was not drawing too much power, as to impede starting the boat when moving on. I do not plan to put as much power into the boat system, but know that any power source above and beyond the head unit can take a large draw. I might rig it with a switch to the amp/sub, so that I can choose to have it off. I'll be waiting for pics man! |
