You should be psyched, that is one awesome body of water. Which end are you staying on?

The last report I heard was slow but that is dated. I am heading up Sunday, staying @ Moccasin point. Last year I was tormented by several Supertankers all week. It didn't last I got my personal Best on the last day. Don't ignore main lake rocks. If you see a White/ red/ black Ranger say hi.

Lots of fish up on the rocks East end, but few are biters. Water temp low 70's. Partner scored a 48, so some will go.

Check out Chad Cain's web site, he has been on fish. Scott Donovan caught a 52" X 22 1/2" girth. They had 5 or six nice fish, some on Llungen tails, and the rest on Peacemakers.

This Thursday through Sunday will be my first trip to Vermillion. We will be fishing the east side. Getting concerned that I'm not hearing anything other than guys seeing fish that don't move. Anyone have reports from the last week?

Thanks!

Eric

Hot weather on the Big V = FISH

Morning - Run and Gun every rock - Top water, Hair and fast glides

Mid Day - Top water any where, lazy crankin' on rock edges, smooooth looong glides off edges and always
time for hair.

Night - Big jointed cranks on top, big bladed hair, Top waters.

or OOOhh AHHH fish on spinner baits - wow - must be a new lure !!! Oh boy gotta break out my 15 yr. old beat up
hardly any hair left on them spinner baits from Vermilion ski and rock. Hmmm it must OK to use them now that
some gun has caught a few fish.

I'll tell the muskies it's now OK to bite em

Mother

ps - Once again summoned by the fascinated by bright and shiny objects. Is this reply bitter ? Nah, surly - yes

Yup... Mother is right. Spinnerbaits will work on Vermilion. Worked for us last week.

Old tricks are sometimes the best.

Fished Vermilion 7/13-7/15. We moved/saw about 30 fish on the east side reefs/islands. CPR’d three fish, all over 40 with the largest a 49 inch monster that was easily over 30 pounds. We did best 6pm-midnight. Moonrise was a blast. Daytime air temps in the 90s and water temps mid-upper 70s. Each day fished differently but it is clear you need wind to have a good shot at a great day. Topwater was the most productive for us - medium fast and loud during the day, slow and subtle at night.
