I am looking for a place you can take the family (showers & toilets, etc.) nice place to camp, and still chase the toothy critters.[:p]

Any help would be appreciated!

I know of Shabbona in Illinios, state park that holds the current state record Muskie & held the last 3 records as well. Nice place to camp and fish (walleye, bass, cats, crappie, stripers, this lake has it all, including the most fishing presure you've ever seen(lake is only around 300 acres)

There are 2 places in southern Wisconsin that you close to Ill. Gov. Dodge State Park and Yellowstone State Park have musky lakes, nice camp sites and pretty good facilities for families.

Cave Run has an 2 very nice camp grounds. Both are run by the U.S. Forest Service. They are very clean and the camp sites are not right next to each other. The camp sites have pads that you park your camper or set up your tent on, so you don't have to worry about finding a level spot or dealing with mud if it rains. The phone number for the ranger office is 606-784-5624. They will send you an info packet.

I did Big Lake up in Vilas County a few years ago. Nice place, good sized camp grounds, lots of plots to choose from, and on good muskie water. If you're interested I think I still have info on the wheres and hows to this place.

Well, since Slamr let the one cat out I will let the other one which is Carlton. I believe you can camp at the musky lake near rockford too. Ottawa lake state park is near oconomowoc and a nice campground too. No musky but a nice lake for swimming but not far from musky water. There is a campground on the lake in canada that fireside lodge is on too but I have no info on it.

Lake Carlton in Rockwood State Park in Morrison Illinois has good campgrounds and the fishing is sometimes good, you either do great or bad. I fish it every weekend. The lake is small and easy to fish and there are boat rentals and a restraunt by the lake and the campgrounds are good w/ running water and showers and such.

Hey Zach and Todd,
How is the fishing at Carlton, heard about it but never fished it. I fish Shabbona a lot (guide there), Carlton is about another hour west for me, is it worth the extra drive, or is there better action on Shabby?

Thanks guy's, keep em coming!!![:p]
