Posts: 172 | looking to pick one of these up before the season. anyone run this bait yet? does it have about the same depth range as the 10" jake, or does it dig deep like the 13" grandma? i'm curious to hear the max depth on say...80# superline. heck, it might even run shallower for all i know right now. any input would be appreciated! -MNmatt

Posts: 670 Location: Minnetonka , MN. | That is one reason I didn't get one. I know what the 13" grandma will do and it works! Till I find out how they work I'm staying with the Grandma ![]() Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

No need to stray from the 13 inch Holoform Grandma! ![]()

One thing I was told is that the Jake will perform better at slower speeds than the Grandma. I've used the big Grannies and they sort of knuckle-ball at ultra slow speeds. Any info on this? J.Sloan Badfish Outdoors

Posts: 180 Location: Kinkaid Lake, IL | The 14" jake at slow speeds (around 2.5 mph) tend to troll about 8-10ft w/ 80lb power pro. They track just fine at 6 to 7 mph but will tear your equipment up with that huge wobble it produces. I can bump bottom at 20ft no problem when I am on a fast troll. I prefer to slow troll the big jake around huge suspended schools of shad and so far I have had good success.

Donovan, Thanks for the info. Can't wait to troll those big boys suspended this year. J.Sloan Badfish Outdoors
