| So what's the deal. About a year ago all I heard about was TufLine. Was supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
The last month or so everyone is talking about Power Pro.
I have TufLine on 3 reels and haven't had any problems since I bought it. Was there something I missed in the meantime that now the TufLine isn't any good? Or is Power Pro just the new "gotta have" item?

| I had to have Power Pro, but not because I thought it was the newest thing to make this shaved ape a hip cat cool muskie man. I just hate ordering from catalogs, and if I cannot find something in a store, well I just dont use it. I wanted to try Tuf-line, but never found any available. Several friends of mine use it, and love it. I was able to find some Power Pro this spring so I thought I would try it since my stash of Ultra Max had finally been depleated. So far we have not seen all that much differance between the two lines. Both pull lures from trees, both cast fifteen feet and nest up on panic casts toward fish that have raised and turned away. Both cut your finger open nicely when you idiotically attempt to land a large, but green fish. Seriously though I think they are both great lines, and its nice to have a selection of lines in the muskie world. |

| Personally I think TUF line is the greatest breakthrough in musky fishing technology since the advent of the bucktail. Its revolutionized the sport. Actually, that statement could be re-phrased to say "superbraids"..... but my superbraid of choice is TUF all the way.

| I switched over from 50# Cortland Spectron to 65# Power Pro. I can really feel the differences. I've never used TUF line before but from what I've heard is that it is pretty good as well. I love the Power Pro!

| As a sidenote to this topic, I see that Pete is now selling a line. Superbraid, coated etc. Anyone know about this stuff??? Saw it in the magazine today and now I am drawing a complete blank on the name...old age I bet. SpongeBob can you relate??? |

| I have used Tuff-Line for years. This year I thought I would put power Pro on one of my rods. What I noticed was I could cast many of the lures a little farther, but I could not cast as far with my best casting baits as I could with Tuff Line. So I guess it's a trade off, cast farther with lighter baits and slightly shorter with heavier baits. The line Pete is promoting is put out by VMC and is called Enemy line. It's the color blue, for some reason I'm drawn to trying it, but have yet to get a spool. It looks expensive though, like $30 for 150 yds. Anybody else tried it? |

| I tried Tuf-Line this year after reading all the recommendations. I checked it out in the store, liked the look and feel. Spooled up one reel, went fishing, came home and bought a bulk spool. I loved it so much, I had a half-full spool of MuskyMaster at home and gave it to a friend because I`ll never use it again. |

| Geez 155, I'm only 15!! How can I relate to old age???? I happen to be a border-line genius + got my G.E.D. earlier than most. And speaking of line, I like the power pro but plan on getting some Tufline also to try. I also heard that the Remington CoreLoKT(?) in 75lb. was really good but then again who knows! I use 25-30 mono some in the rivers here as they are VERY clear + few snags. Buy 1 of each as I can see you are becoming frantic + are sure to turn rabid shortly![;)] Now ask REAL nice for the checkbook + go get your bad self some gas![:sun:] |

| I ran into power pro. I bought it just because. It was while I was getting my pete maina combo (junk, went back broke, reel did, and the weight part fell outta the rod). Power pro is great.I didn't know that it was used in the musky community till after I bought it. |

| Tuf-line is very available, Smokey's, Rollie and Helens, Gander Mt. etc. I prefer the standard white Tuf-Line in 50lb, it has stood the test of time for me. I have been using it for 6 years now. [8)] |
