Fished Webster with client Dan Murry on the 26th and 27th.
We hit the water at around 7:00 am Tuesday morning, water temps were 53-54 and water clarity was around 3'-5'.
We started out fishing the breaks with no luck and then moved into the deep holes and started to mark bait fish deep. I put on a Fuzzy Duzzit and started jigging in 44' of water. I hooked a fat little 33" right off the bottom, this is the deepest fish that I have ever hooked. We missed another one on a jig and one on a sucker and that was it for the day.

We started at 6:30 am on Wednesday, conditions were the same and we started right off in deep water. We were marking bait fish right off the bottom so we started jigging agian. We boated three fish and lost two on jigs and one on a sucker. Of the three boated two were on jigs and one on a sucker.

Fishing report for 10-28:

Fished Thursday with clients Steve Andrews and his two sons, water temps were 55 and water clarity still the same.
I took one of the boys with me in my boat and Steve took the other with him in his boat. I gave them two baits and told them what to do and to follow me.
We hit the deep water right off the bat and not soon after Billy had his very first Musky ever, a nice fat 37". About 25 minutes later Dad has his first ever Musky, a 38 1/2".
After lunch we switched and I took the other son with me, we missed three fish on jigs and with just about 15 minutes left in the day I misssed a nice fish on a sucker #*+%@
one more fish and they all would have scored there first fish ever...............I WAS PISSED!!!!!

Oh well, that's Musky fishing.

Check out the smiles on these faces, man I love chasing these creatures!!!

I have had some debates lately with friends about the quality of fish we are seeing on webster lately.  I took a look at some data on the Lunge Log and found the following that I thought I would share.  What I noted from the data was that:

a. There are a lot more little daisies in the lake as a percentate of all fish caught in the last few years
b. There are significantly less 40-45" fish getting caught
c. There are 3x less 45-50" fish getting caught this year vs 2001

Interested in what others think after reviewing the data.

From looking at the chart the average size is about the same for all years but 2001 looks to be an UNBELIEVABLE year for bigger fish and numbers. More guys are now fishing the other lakes around the area because they are now producing decent size fish. A few years ago Barbee was kicking out nothing but dinks but now they are growing and more and more people are fishing it.

I think one of the main problems is that you can't go out there on a Tuesday anymore without seeing 25 boats on the water, the lakes only 500 some odd acres and fishing pressure has a LOT to do with it. I remember when I would go out there and be the only boat on the water..........THOSE DAYS ARE OVER!!! I also think that a lot of guys are not saying they caught their fish there because the pressure is already through the roof. I for one have seen some pretty big fish this year and I know others that have also but it is true that they are not "JUMPING" on the hook anymore.

A lot of people got spoiled fishing Webster because if you went 10 minutes without seeing a fish something was wrong. I know you HATE this lake Joe but the fish are still in there............they are just a litlle bit smarter now!!! I do have to agree with you that I have not caught as many big fish as I have in the past and I'm not seeing AS MANY but they are still in there.

Joe, may you be stranded on one of web's small islands and be forced to live there for along time!lol Ok Joe, webster sucks. I have not seen any really big fish there but the #'s are still there. I think there is probably alot smarter fish n there and alof of delayed mortality from catch and release.

I think the massive weed kill a couple of years ago has a lot to do with the lack of quality and bigger fish in the lake right now. I also agree that the fishing pressure on Webster particularly but also the other lakes in the area has skyrocketed!!!!

It could be too that the forage may be on the decline. I know the bluegill and crappie population are really hurting on Webster.

Of our 35 musky boated this year from Webster, only four of those have been of legal limit size; one at 36", one at 38", one at 46" and one at 48". So..yeah...lots of young, scrappy fish out there in numbers.

Yeah PGA that was me. I finally got on this board. Lack of forage in Webster because habitat destruction, i.e. weedkill. Webster water clarity used to be like Tippy is now.
