Posts: 425 Location: Elkhart, IN | I alway notice Peacock bass lures like the Luhr Jensen Big Game Woodchopper and Amazon Ripper mixed in with the muskie lures, has anybody tried them for muskies? They look like they'd give an interesting action that just might trip a muskies trigger

Posts: 2361 | Tried the ripper type of retrieve and cannot say it has been my most productive. I would not recommend it as a starting point. Might try it on an off day or with three in a boat though. It kind of gets down to the axiom that some things work most of the time and most things work some of the time. I would rather use the "some things that work most of the time". I have thought that a little different design and a little softer slower retrieve might be effective, but have not had much opportunity to test this down here.

Posts: 149 | Somewhat related to this topic I have quite a few salt water lures in my box. Most are cranks or creature type lures. Built the same or better than most musky lures and usually less than half the price. Can't beat it.
