Posts: 16 Location: Bellveue,Ohio | I got to go fisking today for the first time since my surgury. I was trolling a willies 10oz spinnerbait caught one 45in and one 38in on a muskie trap spinnerbait. It was the best 7 hours I have had in about two months. Can't wait until caverun, I'll be the guy with his right hand in a brace and duct tape. Musky fisherman are the weidest people. Went to alum creek just north of Columbus,Ohio MrMusky 1 Lupe

Posts: 16 Location: Bellveue,Ohio | Lobi, the wellie 10oz spinnerbaits are pretty easy to run. I was running mine at about 6.5mph with 40 to 50 feet of line out, thats if my speed-o-meter is right. just like other lures test and retest and when you got it right retest. I do sell wellie's bucktails if you need some. This was the first time that I used his trolling bait and I would say to use a xheavy rod with a good rod holder. Hi muskygirl I will see you in caverun

Posts: 13 | Thanks Mike! I'm new to this site and a relatively new musky fisherman in metro area MN. I've been fishing all my life but musky fishing was something I always thought was like the old saying "fish of 10,000 casts". I like catching big fish so I've always targeted northern pike, but the odds of catching a 40"+ pike are probably less than catching a musky. Musky season opens on June 5th here. Alot of stocked tiger musky lakes around the cities area to keep panfish populations down. I have not caught a pure strain musky yet but have caught a few tigers (37" & 38" the biggest) I look forward to chating with all you and learning more about musky fishing. Can't wait till opener. jimus

| Mr Musky1: Hope you don't mind, but could I ask you some info on trolling those spinnerbaits? Are they weighted, and what depth do you think they were running? Also, the sections of Alum are so different, do you mind sharing which section you were fishing? If you would rather e-mail, please let me know. Thanks. | |||
