I rarely slow down for musky. You just don’t cover enough water at slow speeds. “Name of the game trolling is covering water to find active fish” if you want to go slow, a spinner rig, like you’d do for walleye, with a Creature, or possibly a jointed floating Rapala at your 1.7-1.9 Typically most of my trolling is done at 3-4 mph…daytime! In Fall when water cools I’m doing 4-5.3 mph down to around 42 degrees . Opposite of everyone else.
Books tell you to slow down in the fall…just don’t believe everything you read! What do I know, I’m just a rookie;) JD
