Posts: 444 Location: Duluth, MN | I had an LCX 27c and called Lowrance and Lakemaster with that question. Lakemaster said version 3 chips are what you need. They are hard to get a hold of now. Anything over 1MB will not work. You could call Lakemaster and verify that for your model.

Posts: 20248 Location: oswego, il | Tough to find and i have seen some that were sold as older chips go for decent money. It is a hard one to figure out. I bought one cheap last year, put it in my lowrance and it screwed up ths unit until 8 took it out.

Posts: 1220 | Not the answer you were seeking, but you might be amazed by what’s in the bargain bins at the big box stores. A two year old model having virtually all you could get today except maybe a touch screen in a very decent usable size is often a real steal. Three or four hundred will get great preloaded mapping, side and down scan and more. Most of all, you will find the really huge screens are mostly for penis size issues and drainage on your batteries, you don’t need them.

Posts: 676 Location: Wisconsin | https://dbe2w38xsulyl.cloudfront.net/wysiwyg/docs/Compatibility_Guid... Compat chart for Navionics. Looks like you can get new Navionics to run in that location. Lakemaster you would have to buy a used one before the Humminbird switch, you can find those around on sale like Ebay or FB groups. One thing to check is if you can download the chart from Navionics onto a 1gb sd card because that location might have problems with large sd cards. It shows it is compatible but I seem to remember that was an issue with older lowrance units. I'd get the download and put it on a 1gb SD card....

Posts: 148 Location: pittsburgh, pa | When i had an lcx38 years ago i bought a nav premium chip and it kept on stalling my unit. I called navionics and they had me plug it in my computer and delete certain files that didnt work with my unit which made it freeze up. May be worth a shot for people to try if they are having such problems

Posts: 1373 | I've picked up a couple chips for my LCX 26C, but using the Buy/Sell board. I think the guy I got my last one from, had a few others. Let me know, I could PM him.

For mapping on a place like lotw or any lake full of hazards, i will take the big screen just for the map! Edited by ToddM 8/23/2018 12:17 PM
