Thinking of getting this reel in the 7.1.1 gear ratio. Would put it on a Cabela’s predator MH 8’. What do you guys think?

So I think i might pull the trigger on the lexa 300 wn. Not sure what gear ratio to get though. It will be my only larger baitcaster. My others are all bass size reels. Should I go with the 7.1.1, with 32+ IPT or the 6.3.1 with 28+ IPT?

6.3.1 will be more versatile, IMO. If it is your only non-bass sized reel, I would go with one that can do more.

Is 28” IPT enough to burn smaller buck tails and pick up slack on jerkbaits and fish running at the boat?

Yea I was leaning towards the 7.1.1. Which handle though. Was leaning towards the double paddle but not sure? Also this reel is 140$ on eBay, it says brand new unopened. Not sure if I take that risk to save 60$. Or buy it from tackle warehouse or bass pro or somewhere like that?

Get the Power Handle and you can get them new on ebay or amazon for about $169 with the Power Handle

was going to get the win but other than the look it's really not an upgrade.the hd have the same drag, but it's stainless steel inside(pinion and gears) and that's a good difference imo
