Any ideas on the big differances here? I know the 999s dont have autochart live but im not seeing many other differances. Any personal opinions on each? I can probably save $200 to $300 going with a very slightly used 999.

I've had both. Helix processor is much faster, screen resolution is much better. I believe the ducers are the same. All in all I like the Helix much more than I did the 999.

Having autochart with the Helix is a big deal IMO.

Screen is very bright and clear, allows you to see it during the day without tipping your sunglasses down over your nose.

I would say it depends on how you use your graph. Screen quality is much better in the helix series, the side imaging on the newest 2GN is something else. I side image a lot the pictures attached are in my opinion the reason why anyone should make a jump to the Helix 2GN series, fox river this past Saturday, 6 fow, I am guessing we can all guess what this is!

Helix hands down
1. auto chart live is a game changer
2. that screen is extremely bright. They did a great job here. I can read my Helix 9 from 7 feet away in bright sun.
3. faster processor. Things are just faster

I had a 899. The helix is way faster and the screen is amazing! I have never missed the 899.

Ok so more help trying to figure out humminbird. I might end up going with 2 helix 7s, SI for consile and sonar for bow. I want autochartlive at conssole and i want network capabilities. When i look on amazon i cant tell what units have netwoorking and autochart and what ones dont. Hoping i can get both units under $1000
