I will be staying on Miltona from July 16-23. Any reports or suggestions?

Also, thinking about trying out some other lakes near Miltona (willing to go as far as the Detroit Lakes). What other lakes near Miltona have good muskie populations?

Hire Dave Williamson a day... he is over in that area... just saw this post on FB...he is only $300 a day which is a steal by todays guide rate standards...

Dave Williamson added 2 new photos.

I agree that Dave would be worth the money. Lobster and Oscar lakes are also both close by.

We have a group of four fisherman so I do not believe we will be able to hire a guide. Thanks for the recommendation though.

I'd say it is still worth it. Even for a 1/2 day to learn the lake and create a gameplan for the rest of the trip. A lot of guides will let you have another boat follow along as well.

Lobster and Oscar get warm much faster than Miltona. Weather has been good lately but the next two weeks are going to warm up again. Miltona is an awesome lake, so is West Battle. Since you'll be on Miltona I'd just pick it apart, learn it well. There's plenty of structure to learn and the muskies can definitely get on the larger side. You shouldn't get bored. So long as I can talk the wife into letting me get out for a day I'm going to be there either that Thursday or that last Saturday. I don't get there as often as I'd like but its definitely a favorite of mine. If you're coming from the metro 94 has some construction at a few St Cloud exits, the weekend cabin traffic can get a bit backed up.

I will be on Miltona the 14th-16th. I wont be going for Muskies solely as my wife will be with. Going to Miltona to get on some walleyes and panfish and then once she's satisfied I can start casting or trolling

Dave's a cool dude that knows the lakes well. Well worth the price to get ahead on the learning curve on those waters.
