| I am looking to get my first reel musky rod, last year I used my 7'6" XH pitching rod. I will still use this rod for wtd and jerk baits. I am thinking about trying the TI 10'6" because more is better right? Outside of transportation and storage is there any downsides to going this long? I am 6'5" and boat sits high in the water. The majority of people seem to use 9' but next year I don't want to wish I went longer. On the other hand I don't want to get a 10'6" rod and wish I went shorter. Any advice for a new guy. |

| I would say they are pretty long to work jerkbaits but other than that not much for downsides. Sound like you have a jerkbait rod covered, so I think it is a good option. I bought one of the 10'6" TI rods last season and I have a several other high end rods but I find myself always reaching for that 10'6". Probably adding another one to my lineup this season |

| James...wont be at the show. Wish Michigan still had a muskie show. Do you ever coming to any of the generic fishing shows in MI?
Kap...i am allergic to fish so no flying solo. Always have a buddy in the boat and epipens near by.

Sorry but no shows for me in MI this year. Still have a pesky day job. But not for long.... If you have any other TI rods you can be assured the action is nearly identical. Let me know if you have any Qs on lures wts and correct rod action/length. I am at the MN show right now but try to answer all emails everyday for my CS job

| I love my 10'6" rods. The guys I fish with love theirs too. I just finished up building 6 more of them after the last batch for myself and fishing buddies. If you think the 10'6" will be too long go with the 10'. Depending on what you plan to throw, the xxh really isn't too heavy, and I would recommend it over the xh for big blades like 10's and up. I use mine for pretty much every sized blades tho. The extra length on the 10'6" will definitely make your boat side maneuvers way easier and effective, especially if your boat sits high like you said. I fish primarily out of a bass boat and love the amount of water I can cover in the "8" with the 10'6". |

| I would agree with the downside of using this flagpole as a jerk bait rod for sure but that's it. The rod collapses down well and u won't have any storage issues. I have been increasing the size each year it seems like and went from the 7'6ers back in the day, to 8'6 then finally the 9 ft'ers. I bought a 10' this year have only tossed it around at the local pond on weekends since the Chicago show and I think it's fkn magic - can't wait for the season to get started. I would recommend the TI rods, have a couple now and they are priced right, excellent quality, and It doesn't get any better regarding customer service than James - you can't go wrong and won't regret the purchase. I if your a big cat like 6'5 with a tall boat 10'6 is a winner |

Location: Detroit River | The downside to using a longer rod is that it gives you LESS leverage when fighting a fish & it gives the fish more leverage.

| Ordered one from MTO last night along with a mag super D and a bondy royal orba. I will report back with my results once the season opens at the end of April. |
