Posts: 1039 Location: North St. Paul, MN | Just looking ahead to the end of June trip to Canada and I noticed on the app on my phone one of the days I'll be up, showed "none" as the moon rise time. All the other days had a time for moon rise. In fact, I don't think I've noticed this ever before. Huh? How so? Can you explain that to me?

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | What are the moon rise times the days prior to the no moon rise day? The moon rises every 24 hours and somewhere around 49-50 minutes. So if moonrise on the day prior is late enough, it can skip a whole calendar day. My guess is this is what is happening. Edited by Pointerpride102 2/20/2016 10:05 AM

Posts: 1039 Location: North St. Paul, MN | That's the app I was using. I'll look close at it for more analyzation. Admittedly, I have not gotten into the moon phase observations until this past season, so lots to learn. Thanks guys.

Posts: 2024 | No moon rise or set on a day simply means it happens after 12am, no matther what app. Now, if the sunset isn't there, we are screwed...

Posts: 1760 Location: new richmond, wi. & isle, mn | Propster - 2/20/2016 1:17 PM after midnight is the next day. If the moon rises at say 11:30pm on Monday, moon rise next 12:30 am Wednesday. So technically it never rose on Tuesday.ARmuskyaddict - 2/20/2016 11:58 AM No moon rise or set on a day simply means it happens after 12am, no matther what app. Now, if the sunset isn't there, we are screwed...
