Posts: 980 | Read in another thread that TB does offer a warranty on custom predator rods they build. If true, what kind of warranty do they offer?

Posts: 1638 Location: Minnesota | I had a old custom rod from Thorn bros. It was a Dimond back at the end when they were built in China .I snapped the rod in front of the first eye after the reel seat. They built me a new one on a G Loomis steel 25 blank . I changed a few things I think they charged me 25 bucks. That's the only time I've had a problem with one of there roods.

Posts: 980 | sounds good, but what is there standard warranty policy for their predators? 1 year? 5 year? I'm out of state and hypothetically speaking if something were to go wrong with the rod I would need to ship it back to them.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | ? I thought Predator rods from Thorne Bros were 5 years? At least they used to be. You may want to check again. $400+ rod built on a St Croix Predator blank should have more than a 1yr warranty on it. I am 99% sure they used to be 5ys or more... JMO.

Posts: 980 | Thanks Ryan, was able to speak with TB yesterday and they did say 1 year warranty and then anything after that has a $75 re-build fee which isn't bad at all considering they are custom.

That is actually a great deal then! In short a limited lifetime warranty for $75....
