What is your go to lures when targeting muskies in clear lakes? Specifically the 16' - 22' range.

I have been looking to get a Bondy Royal Orba. It seems like it would work great for this.

Hardheads, Big Joes, and any crank. Black/white/silver if you cannot decide what color to throw.

Hardheads, Bulldawgs, Curly Sues, Triple D's, Depthraiders, and sometimes big double blades if the fish are higher up, willing to come up, or on weeds/weedlines.

Any other similar baits, among others should work too, but the above get quite a bit of water time in my boat on clear water.

For those mentioning dawgs (or other rubber), do you count them down at all? Or just start working them right away?

Yes.

Earlier in the year I find myself not counting them down too much, or at least typically not very far.

Mid summer when the water gets warm and a thermocline sets up I often count them down and will often be trying to keep them down 10+ feet.
