Posts: 122 | The WORLD MUSKIE TOURNAMENT SERIES™ (WMT Series™) has rescheduled the 2012 PROFESSIONAL MUSKIE ANGLER CIRCUIT™ (Pro-MAC™) qualifier on Lakes Minocqua and Kawaguesaga for the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd. The 2012 Minocqua Chain Pro-MAC™ qualifier was originally scheduled for the weekend of June 9th and 10th but due to low turnout and the subsequent insufficient coverage on the water to ensure the quick and safe measurement of captured muskies during the tournament, the Pro-MAC™ officials had decided to postpone the event. Due to the rescheduling of the Minocqua U.S.MUSKIE OPEN™ qualifier to a date that is after the last scheduled Pro-MAC™ major event, teams will have even a greater chance to qualify for the 2012 WMT Series™ Championship™ where a first place prize could net a team $100,000.00 and $160,000.00 cash purse if minimum participation is met. Also, the winners of this year’s Pro-MAC™ Minocqua U.S.MUSKIE OPEN™ will receive an automatic invite to the 2013 WMT Series™ Invitational Championship as well. The WMT Series™ Championship™ will be held a short distance away on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes October 6th & 7th. Moving the date of the Minocqua U.S.MUSKIE OPEN™ has changed the dynamics of the tournament, giving the event a higher degree of importance as the last qualifying tournament of the season. The U.S. MUSKIE OPEN™ will be the last chance for competing teams to qualify for the muskie fishing’s pinnacle of tournaments, the WMT Series™ Championship. In addition to qualifying for the Championship, teams that score on muskies at the Minocqua event will move up in the rankings improving their ease-out positions, and the Pro-MAC™ champions (by virtue of the top point finishers) will be settled at the U.S. MUSKIE OPEN™ as well. The Pro-MAC™ Minocqua Chain tournament will have a purse of $31,000.00 when the field of competitors reaches one hundred and twenty five (125) teams. The cost to compete in a Pro-MAC™ event is $370 per two angler team for each event. The Minocqua muskie qualifying tournament still has some open spots remaining. If you are interested in fishing the Pro-MAC™ Minocqua qualifier, you can register for the tournament on line, or at the pre-tournament Friday night registration, September 21 st at the Island City Lanes at 8085 US Hwy 51 in Minocqua from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The ease out locations for the Minocqua event will be on Lake Minocqua at Albee’s Yacht Club. Tournament hours will be from 6:30am to 3:30pm on Saturday and 6:30am to 12:30pm on Sunday. The awards for the Minocqua event will be held at the Island City Lanes on Sunday at 2:00pm at the conclusion of the qualifying tourney. The WMT Series™ events are open to the public.
