Muskie Fishing -> Fishing Reports and Destinations -> The 'goon

Message Subject: The 'goon

Subject: The 'goon

Just got back from the 'goon with a not so good report. Had a very wind-blown weekend, fishing was tough to say the least. Spent a day wading in the weeds which were in very poor condition, lots of stringy green algae and little black snail like creatures attached to them. Weeds were much thinner than July and in some areas they were pretty dead looking. Caught some snakes in the weeds but no musky sightings. Switched to rocks half way through the weekend and lost on mid 40" fish after it surfaced and showed me what three or four headshakes will do with to a 10" Believer. No other follows. Shannon at Indian Point said it had been windy the whole week before we got there and it didnt let up for the weekend either. Didn't find any rocks so it was an ok weekend. Would like to get a chance to fish this lake with some decent weather just once. It just smells of big fish.

p.s. Thanks fo the info Steve W.
