Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | The 2011 MuskieFIRST Spring Bay Fall Outing started off with a bang a little early yesterday with a 52 incher. Sam (OscarTFish) boated the 52 yesterday afternoon and lost another in the four foot class. All but a couple of the 27 expected have arrived. Most enjoyed a few hours on the water in the rain and a little lightening today. Jerome Morris(Top H20) boated a 42 and bobbie (Louie Dodge) boated a fat 44 incher this evening, all fish coming on blades.Numerous other fish were seen. Water temps have dropped to mid 50's in the rain today but fish are still being caught and seen shallow. Stay tuned throughout the next few days for updates!

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | It rained and the wind blew 10-15 mph throughout the day but the fish activity was very steady for all. Surprisingly the water temps haven't changed much, hovering in the high 50's. Four muskies and a few big pike hit the Frabill's this afternoon, a 46 by Sam(OscarTFish), 44.5 by Dave Vranish, a 44.25 by Tonts23 and a 44 by Jeff H. A 40.25, 39 and a 36 rounded out the pike. Top H2O and I moved eight fish with H20 having a four foot class fish skyrocket to head level out of the water only to shake the bucktail as it reentered the water. Everyone is hanging around the bonfire enjoying a few drinks and having a great time, high optimism for tomorrow! Picture of OscarTFish's 52 from earlier this week. Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Spring Bay Resort Owner/Guide Steve Admundson did a dockside demo where he went over some of his top lure choices as of late and explained techniques. Thanks to Jim Reuter at Glittertail for donating bucktails. The wind is howling out of the NNW at 20-30 with gusts up to 40 and air temps have dropped 10 degrees, making fishing a bit tough, but fish are still showing themselves. Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Winds were howling out of the NNW 20-30 mph all day making mobility tough and not allowing certain areas to be fished effectively. Rudy scored on two fish late this afternoon with a 42 and 45 on blades. Numerous other fish were seen throughout the day. Winds for tomorrow are expected to be similar, but everyone is making the best of it and putting their time in as best as possible under the current conditions. Photos are of Rudy's fish taken from another boat and his boat, one photo shows just how rough it was today. Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | The 2011 Spring Bay Resort MuskieFIRST Fall Outing wrapped up this evening with a fish fry at The Landing on behalf of Spring Bay Resort. This fall outing was the best to date for number of fish seen, lost and boated with 9 hitting the net. The largest fish caught was a 52 incher by OscarTFish. Sam won a free weeks stay for two for his efforts; congratulations gentlemen! Thanks to Bill Fassig(partlycloudy) for donating one of his DB 10 bucktails just like the one Sam caught his fish on for the second largest fish, Dave Vranish with a 44.5. Thanks to everyone who participated and a huge thanks to Spring Bay Resort for two awesome outings in 2011 and amazing accommodations. If you haven't experienced an outing at Spring Bay Resort, you should! Stay tuned for dates on the 2012 summer outing. We'll be announcing that date over the next few weeks. For more information or to book your trip, you can reach Steve Amundson at: http://www.springbayresort.com/ 1-800-847-5253 or [email protected] Sam's winning fish. Posts: 3 | Was a "first timer" this year and had an absolutely great time! Many thanks to Steve and Spring Bay Resort. I will definitely be back next year and couldn't recommend this outing any more highly to anyone who hasn't attended. Sure, the fishing was tough at times......but it's MUSKIE FISHING! Nope, I didn't catch one this time, but that didn't spoil my trip one bit.

The alumacraft will be a Navigator 165, 175, or 185. By the size of the engine, I would say it is a 175... Steve

Posts: 81 Location: NEW | This outing was a blast. Always is. Every one was fun and Rudy and Ryan were a gas to share an awesome cabin with again. Thanks again to Steve and everybody at Spring Bay for running a top notch resort. I'd also like to say thanks to all the guys that congratulated me on my biggest fish ever. It's really a great feeling, as well as humbling, to have some of the best fishermen I know tell me " Hey, good job". We'll see ya'll again next year...

Posts: 131 | sam-yup,that was a pretty fun deal and it was an awesome cabin but i think it was you who shared the gas!!i still can't get over the fact that you were lucky enuf to have a friend who had a leg a few inches shorter than the other which made him perfect for running the trolling motor.....what luck! and then you go and catch a 52!!!again,congrats buddy! bill-next year i'm gonna bring a sippie cup i too would like to thank sringbay and muskiefirst for allowing us to have that much fun for $195.it was great to meet s.b's newest addition, braydon.he didn't have much to say but i could see the muskie hunter in his eyes.[he kinda smelled like sam when i was right by him too] jerome-if you catch that fish i wanna see the pic!! best fishes to all of you crazy muskie people and i'll see ya next year.

Posts: 38 Location: NW Iowa | You guys kill me:) It sounds like the aroma in our cabin was a little better than your's Rudy. Partly due to Louie spending much of his time by the camp fire:) This was my 2nd time to this event and I won't miss it next year. How often do you get to spend time with a great bunch of guys that fish hard(once they get out of bed), play hard. It was great seeing everyone again. See you next year.
