I started with a D70, a super sophisticated Nikon SLR digital. I then bought a 40 for it's compact frame and features for a small price, and thought those would be tough to top.

If you are in to shooting digital slr cameras and appreciate value, you need to look at the Nikon D5000. It's a half frame per second slower than the more expensive D90, but weighs two ounces less and still shoots 4 fps. The D5000 has a nifty swing screen LCD display, shoots HD video with excellent audio, and paired with a companion Nikkor 18 to 200 VR lens, it's tough to shoot a bad video or image. Only two buttons to push, and you are shooting HD video, and one split second lather, shooting images if you wish

I'll be using this camera to shoot OFM interviews and images, Muskie action in the Tuffy X190, and can't WAIT to see what I can do shooting hunting and Ice fishing stuff with this thing. I need to pick up a polarizing filter, and I'm set.
