I too have been thinking about adding a kicker to my Lund 1750 fisherman. The 115 Merc. will only let me troll down to 3 mph (GPS SOG speed).

I like to go slower hence the kicker, but... i see trolling plates out there that attach to the main motor which are supposed to slow things down and would be much less expensive.

I really only need to troll very slow in the fall, and I guess in the early spring it would be nice for walleye fishing as well.

My question is: Does anyone have experience with these? What are the Pros and cons?

Also, how about a different prop? You know, change the # of blades and pitch etc. Might not this do the trick as well?

Thanks,

Steve
