For Christmas, I was given a Bass Pro gift card, so when the new '08 catalog arrived, I began to page through it. I noticed the new Pete Maina PM20A. What grabbed my attention was its low gear ratio,a 5.4to1. I was looking for a big low profiler for a 7 fenwick hmx rod that I used to use before moving up to St. Croixs. I was hoping Abu made a bigger Revo or Shimano making a 300dsv with a lower gear ratio but did'nt happen. So with the gift card, I went for it. Very nice reel, smooth drag, smooth reeling and weighs in at a little over 9 ounces. I'm looking forward to this May chasing big spring pike with musky killers and twitch baits. Not bad for 100 bucks. Can't comment on durability-yet. Kdawg
