Subject: making glide baits


I'm interested in starting to make my own. First what kind of wood and does anyone know the fundementals on how they work. Example what kind of pattern is suppose to do what. Second weight what kind and where and how do you put it in. Third painting I heard you use water base but what kind of clear coat without having to use heat. I know its alot of info and I have been reading alot. If I'm going to jump into this I want to start out right.
