Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | I know, I know...another Ky Thread....but this may be one that stops people from getting a ticket or worse.
Wisconsin requires the following...
1 PFD (Vest) for each angler and 1 throwable in the boat.
1 Fire extinguisher for boats 16' and over.
Bow and stern lights.
All batteries to be secured.
Here's a list of the most common violations that cites are written for.......
1 Personal watercraft violations
2 Failure to provide proper number of personal flotation devices.
3 Operate boat without valid certificate of number
4 Operate boat in prohibited area, in excess of speed limit on lakes 50 acres or less, or in excess of fixed limits.
5 Operate motorboat while under the influence of an intoxicant, or operating motorboat with BAC of 0.1% or greater.
6 Operate boat at night without required lights.
7 Failure to display registration number or decal on boat.
8 Operate boat towing water-skiers without an observer.
9 Operate beyond slow-no-wake where prohibited.
10 Permit underage person to operate a motorboat.
Please be aware of the no wake areas on Okauchee and I believe there's a speed limit before 8 am..I believe it was 10...anybody know differently?
Also, please check your trailer for exotic species and remove all weeds before launching and after. The last thing we want to do is spread the nasty stuff.
If anybody can add anything or correct any info, please do so. I understand that this stuff may be covered at the meeting, but by covering it now, it may be easier to buy any needed stuff before the meeting than after. |
