...or at least turning off the sonar w/o actually turning off the units.

Does anyone think that the sonar pings make muskies wary or turn them off? Kinda of curious if anyone has seen a difference in running sonar vs sonar off. Our local lake cooled down enough this week to let us get out. Was 80+ but now the main creek temps are low to mid 70's from the rain and unseasonably cool nights. The main creek was packed with boats, most running LS. I had SI on all day so I know the fish were there and in what numbers. The only three boats that caught fish were 2 trolling and one small 12' boat w/o sonar casting. The casting boat caught a nice upper 30's on a small spinnerbait against the bank. We fished for 10 hours with only one probable hit that missed a blade bait off the end of a laydown (saw the fish swirl on it).

With the number of boats in the mile or so stretch, the noise must have been deafening to the fish. I'm thinking the next time I get up there I'll scan the creek going up then shut everything down and fish "blind". At a minimum, I won't be looking down at my graphs every minute.

Thoughts?
