| Admittedly only fished Leech a handful of times, but talk to plenty of guys that fish it regularly and I've spent a fair amount of time in MN in general -Late August in MN can be a time to fish just about any structure you can think of ..as where there are "concentrated" ski's tends to change year to year then from my experience .. some years water might still be 75.. others you may have 65 ...mid lake reefs certainly should be checked, but so should 10-14' weedlines, inside weedlines , reeds, deeper rock bars, rock points, and even bare sand...cold fronts can come through often then...Leechers definitely can get ultra shallow that time of year, I've had some decent reed bites late august..and then again some years nada in the reeds.. its a big lake and there will no doubt be multiple patterns -weather and wind will play into your "where"...of course bucktails and topwater are the common tool then, but rubber, spinnerbaits and many other lures are viable as well..Leech is a fun lake to fish - good luck! |
