I’m considering buying a conquest md now that they have been out for awhile for my smaller rubber fishing. I love my tranx for pounders on up, but for the smaller stuff it doesn’t cast as well as a 400 and isn’t as enjoyable to fish. I have my 500 on a 10’ Thorne xxh stealth, and I use a 10’ xh stealth for smaller rubber. The xxh balances well with a 500 but since it’s a lighter rod the xh fishes more comfortably with a 400 size reel. For the last two seasons I have had a 400 hg tranx break on me part way into the season from throwing rubber. My smaller rubber rod I use for mag double dawgs, tubes with or without blades, all swimbaits, beavers, standard sized royal orbas, weighted dyin dawgs. Don’t really throw anything smaller than that so still big enough to beat up a reel. I would love to put a 400 conquest Md on it since it’s around the same price and so much smaller than a 500 tranx, but at the same time I’m hesitant to spend that much when I know a 500 is as tough as it is. Has anyone on here put a good amount of time into the conquest md and have any input on how well they hold up?
