Location: Carney, Mi (in da UP eh!) | At the November meeting of the Musky clubs Alliance of Wisconsin it was voted on and passed by the 14 clubs present of 26 total clubs to propose to the Wisconsin DNR to fully fund raising muskies in 2 unused ponds (unused in 2024) at the woodruff hatchery to raise native wisconsin river strain muskies, about 3000 muskies in each pond for a hopeful total of 6,000 muskies ... estimated cost of this project would be about $75,000.... club representative will be approaching the DNR hatcheries with this proposition.... hopefully it will go through... if this is not a reason for a musky fisherman to join their local musky club that is part of the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wiscsonsin I don't know what is... more information about Musky clubs alliance of wisconsin can be found on their websitehttp://www.muskyclubsalliance.org/ this is just in the beginning stages look forward to seeing more information in the future...

| That would be a reasonable project to apply for a Hugh C Becker grant. Grant application period is Nov 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025. The application process is detailed on page 6 of the Nov/Dec MUSKIE magazine. The cap is $10,000 per year, but grants can be multiple years for the same project. It is very important than grantees submit a progress report before requesting more funding.
