Anyone ever give one of these a shot? I picked one up yesterday and looks like they might work pretty good to me.

I got one last year and I like it a lot, Stays pretty deep for being fairly light, and doesn't foul on the cast. I haven't caught anything on it yet, but I like it.

There is one lake by me that has fresh water eels. might work best out there or places where Lampreys are present

It was my best performing lure last year
Fish it slow with the occasional pause....AWESOME LURE.. PIKE eat it up too.
Be sure to have some Mend-It on board because they will get shredded.
The hook are sticky sharp out of the package.

Glad I picked one up then. I had never even heard of them until I was at the store and saw them yesterday. For 9 bucks I figured why not give it a shot then saw vids of it in action and looks really impressive. More tail action then a dussa or dawg and looks easier to fish over weeds without fowling ever other cast. Hope to give it some water time in the next few days.

Yeah the tail action is better on these than any other plastic bait I've tried...

Just wondering if any of you have had any issues w/ hook-up or if you add a trailer. Last Friday night my buddy had one hit on the drop and wasn't able to get hooks into the fish. When we inspected the bait, it was shredded behind the treble. We talked about adding a trailer hook with fluorocarbon but haven't got around to it yet. Definitely open for suggestions as we both love the action of the bait.

I bought the bigger of the two sizes at Cabelas but the box doesnt say what size it is. Im assuming its the middle size. Wanted to test it out yesterday but my truck then the weather had other plans.

I have both the mid size (30) and the largest (40), but have only used the 30 so far because I've had so much success with it.
No need for a trailer hook IMO, I haven't missed on a hook up yet with these. Maybe I've just been lucky. If you really wanted though, a trailer hook couldn't hurt.
As I mentioned earlier, keep a bottle of Mend-It or super glue on board because they will get shredded. Just glue the tears and send it back out for more action.

Achotrod,

I have attached some pics of the Tiger Muskie that ut-tigerchaser is referring to. This was my new PB caught 26Oct13 on the 12" Reel Eel/Black Green Pearl. I was ripping the bait and letting it fall when I got hit. These are great baits with a great action on them paired with quality hooks at a very reasonable price. Myself, I left the back treble hook on the bait, when this fish came unbuttoned on the treble the top single hook saved the day for me.

Fantastic catch!!!!
I like the bait very much and will pick up more after testing it. I was just to shallow and weedy where I was using it and fishing from a Kayak. It will work even better from the boat in the proper setting.

Do they have fresh water eels din that lake?

Thanks. No Sir, we don't have the freshwater eels here, just the usual panfish (Perch, Crappie, Bluegill etc.) Keep fishing that lure and you will be very happy with it. Best of luck!

probably, the fish has confused the lure with a grass snake
However an awesome catch !!!

Don't have any snakes here in the end of oct they are all in hibernation- too cold !! Just like any other rubber bait if it moves it may get eaten.. no different than using a dawg ....
