So the 681 I bought this spring came with an Ultrex.  The issue that happened the last two times I had it on the water is the foot pedal goes screwy.  Half the time it works fine, and is an absolute joy to run, but then it goes goofy and in order to turn the motor, I have to put almost all my weight on the thing just to make the trolling motor react.  Is the pedal going bad?

Maybe, but make sure your batteries are good. Load test them if you can.

Didn't think about that, being as the batteries are only a year old.  Also just figured out that the previous owner has the batteries wired up in a 36V configuration but the trolling motor is only 24V.  Don't know if this would cause an issue either?  THANKS

If those three batteries are actually lined up in a 36v sequence I would change that asap.
