I've been thinking about getting one of these, as I fish alone the majority of the time, and I'm getting older, and contorting myself over the trolling motor to un-hook/hook up, the boat is getting tiresome. Does anyone have any experience with these? It appears that Drotto was the original, and sold them on the Boat2Trailer website, but now Boat2Trailer has their own version. I'm not sure which might be a better option.

Hey Bryan , i got a drotto ''stratos/ranger'' model a while ago and would suggest a ramp-n-clamp from Boat2trailer depending on your boat . Mine is a fiberglass bassboat style hull and the angle of the keel was not best for the drotto . if getting a new one i woud get the ramp-n-clamp . for aluminium boats the drotto seems good .

Thanks Dan. That's helpful. I do have an aluminum boat. Lund Pro Guide with an E-Z loader roller trailer.

I have a Ranger 621 with a Droto I would never go without one now. Great product. Especially when launching by yourself.

I had a drotto on my last boat and worked great. Boat was a 175 aluminum navigator. Have a 620 now and drotto works great on that to.

Ditto on the Drotto. Glad I added it my Skeeter trailer. Very easy to use.

I also have a Drotto for my setup. Well worth the money in my opinion.

While looking quite similar, one look and you can see they are not exactly the same.
Since they are not exactly the same, I thought I would ask others, if they have experience with one or the other. I'm sure both will work.

They used to be the same but as of Jan. 1, 2023 only Drotto sells the latch they have been making. Boat2Trailer has never manufactured a boat latch. They had been relabeling Drotto's latch and selling it. Drotto claims their latch is designed and made in USA. I'm not sure where Boat2Trailer gets theirs now.

In looking at a local Lund dealer's inventory, looks like almost all of the new boats of 17' or more are being sold with the Drotto on the trailer. Nice addition I would think.
